Last Tango in Halifax

Loved it!  So sweet and apparently based on a real life romance but unfortunately the chap died of a heart attack - after five years of wedded bliss though so quite uplifting.  Hope you all watched it.  Not sure if it was actually filmed in Halifax and Harrogate but scenery pretty spectacular and Yorkshire looking.  Plus Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid - what's not to like?

Hope you are all busy with Christmas frivolities and singing carols all day long like mad little elves?

Oh I LOVED it Nanny! Have always been a fan of Anne Reid but Derek Jacobi was a real revelation in this and I thought his character and humour were brilliant throughout. And I can confirm it was filmed in Halifax and surroundings. By geography Alan should live in Greetland (my village) by virtue of the fact he says its inbetween Barkisland and Elland but its not filmed here but close by. All the train shots were filmed at Sowerby Bridge train station which is the nearest one and all the Hfx shots were authentic as well. Looking forward to the second series, and so glad he survived long enough to be in it!

Happy Christmas to all.
